The Swiss Confederation has proven throughout time that a civilian militia trained and armed can maintain stability and defense, even under threats of the greatest of enemies (Hitler).
Marshal Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto of the Imperial Japanese Navy once stated: "You cannot invade the mainland United States. There would be a rifle behind every blade of grass."
We must maintain this status for the truest defense, while at the same time resolve our "gun problem".
I believe the correct step towards these goals is a mandatory militia of both men and women of the United States that even Thomas Jefferson called, preferably state operated, federally regulated.
