Instate much stricter regulations on news agencies regarding shootings and the inaccuracies released to the public.

Created by M.L. on December 15, 2012

New agencies have the tendency to cover these tragedies relentlessly. There should be stricter regulations as to how these stories should be covered. Outing an ALLEGED "gunman" or antagonists name IS NOT THE SAME as releasing actual facts. Any mistakes on this front can lead to wrongfully accusing GOOD PEOPLE with similar names/locations to be mistaken and tormented for something they did not do. Also, it has been proven that similar events covering the issue in certain ways are more likely to provoke similar events into happening and there are CERTAINLY better methods to covering a story - factually and accurately - that can allow it to be news, as well as maintain a level of sensitivity to all parties involved.
