Class 3 weapons (i.e. sub-machine guns, machine guns, short barrell rifles etc) take 3-6 months of screening to aquire one, and you are pretty much married to it. Anyone that is serious about purchasing an assault rifle for the right reasons would gladly wait 3 to 6 months for federal background checks to receive it.
