Folks like me, who have a comfortable retirement, can easily pay a more realistic premium for our Medicare plans. I paid $600 a month for private sector premiums before Medicare, which charged me $99 a month. It now $104. I should be paying $200 or $300 a month for my premium, rather than having my kids and grand-kids supplement my premiums.
Let those who have limited incomes continue to pay the under-priced premiums, while continuing to pay doctors and hospitals the 2012 schedule (plus inflation).
Also, focus on Medicare fraud. You don't hear about Aetna or Blue Cross Blue Shied fraud, because they are looking out for their self interest; something for which government workers need not be concerned. It's not their money. Want a free scooter, dial (800) rip-off-the-kids.
