To instigate stricter guidelines and rules for pet stores regarding the purchase of dogs from inhumane puppy mills.

Created by T.J. on January 30, 2014

The goal of this petition is to force the government to seriously investigate the support of puppy mills by pet suppliers. Puppy mills are crowded, factory-like breeders of puppies which has them kept in crowded unsanitary conditions and treated as simply a product, not a living animal. The benefit of purchasing dogs from these mills for pet stores is that they come a little cheaper, and are produced a rapid but unhealthy rate for maximum profit. But what is exchanged for more money is the dog's health, mentality, and overall well being. Not to mention everyday puppies are shot at these mills because of a simple physical flaw, disability, etc. Pet stores claim to not condone such an evil institution, yet 90% of all dogs in America come from puppy mills. How can we accept such cruelty?
