Law enforcement applicants face a series of stringent background checks including lie detector tests. All in an effort to establish their integrity, knowledge, criminal background, personality, and morals. These brave souls face danger to enforce laws they don't always agree with.
I am petitioning the House, Senate, President, and any other government official be held to these same requirements. Why should the individuals enforcing the laws be held to a higher standard than the politicians creating them?
As we have continually seen through debate and congressional meetings, politicians often have minimal knowledge about the subjects and legislation they bring to the attention of congress. Not to say all are liars but how many would pass a lie detector test establishing their integrity?
