instill U.S.A. election day as a National Holiday. The 1st Tuesday of November Bi-Annually. Everyone Votes!

Created by A.T. on November 07, 2014

According to estimates, less than 40% of registered voters participated in the 2014 midterm elections. This is utterly unacceptable. We are a country that is built on democracy, built on people having a voice, and there is more that this country can do to continue driving that point home. Every 2 years, starting in 2016, the first Tuesday in November should be a NATIONAL HOLIDAY, treated almost exactly as Labor Day. It should be a recognized holiday that employers would recognize and allow their employees to be off this day. This day should be a celebration of DEMOCRACY, which is what this country is built on. A democracy where everyone is included. We need to do a better job of promoting the importance of this day...we need to help influence & encourage citizens to take more action
