Since the government must use resources to respond to petitions created on We the People and since the US government needs additional sources of revenue in the face of mounting deficit and budgetary issues, this petition seeks to charge users who wish to create or vote on a "We the People" petition. Such a charge should stop abuse of the site while allowing individuals with genuine intentions to inform the government of their opinions and legislative desires.
