Currently, the US does not have term limits on members of the House of Representatives nor the Senate. While the people of the US have largely supported rapid turnover, the lack of limits has lead to creation of “career politicians” who spend their entire life in the political arena, with some seeming to forget the purpose and responsibility of the seat.
Limiting House Members to 4 terms (8 years) and Senators to 2 terms (12 years) would allow greater political turnover, decrease the number of career politicians, decrease political power-blocks, and return Congress to the people of the United States.
Please help us ensure the will of the people is heard and political power and influence is not continued to be wielded by a small group of people for their entire lifetimes.
