Institute the Fair Tax thereby eliminating the income tax and IRS while maintaining a progressively taxed citizen base.

Created by W.S. on September 23, 2011

This tax reform would ensure that the government maintain revenues and will provide for measure of savings by the dismantling of the IRS along with all of its regulations and operations.

The fair tax would be easily implementable as all but 6 states currently have the infrastructure to collect such a tax.

Additionally, the fair tax is a consumption tax, and allows for those at or under the poverty level to receive monthly "prebates" which offset any tax the might incur through their general purchasing of goods and services. This maintains the progressive nature of our current tax code.

By making a simpler, more efficient taxation system, revenue can be easily adjusted and there is a need for large bureaucratic agencies to oversee the system.
