This petition is to requests the federal government to formulate a uniform and consistent law allowing citizens to conceal carry defensive firearms after proper training and background checks. Arming the public is the single most logical step in preventing the targeting of innocents by a mad man, as in the tragedy of Sandy Hook Elementary School. This would also overrule the myriad of state laws with varying levels of training and back ground checks into a uniform consistent carry license acceptable in all US states and territories. Concealed carry inherently limits the size and round capacity of firearms while allowing free exercise of 2nd amendment rights. Eliminate gun free zones except for those areas where alcohol is served or where armed security is already present.
