Institute a federally mandated 4 day work week. Increased productivity, less emissions, more family time, happier people

Created by L.B. on January 24, 2013

With our advances in technology and increasing fiscal debt, now would be a great time to think about instituting a four day work week. Having a shorter work week can improve the quality of life for everyone and save everyone money. Some of the improvements we could look forward to include:

Money saved from less commuting and other expenses associated with work (lunches, day care, etc.)

Reduced emissions.

Healthier population; more time to recover from strenuous jobs and reduced chance of work related injury.

increased productivity for business (studies show that working a four-day workweek leads to more productivity and happiness.

Improved balance between work life and personal life.

More family time for employees.

More flexibility for the development of work schedules.
