Institute knee-jerk reaction gun control reducing measures each time a citizen uses a firearm to protect themselves.

There has never been public outcry for additional measures to protect citizens who are forced to defend themselves with a firearm. Where are the knee-jerk reactions for protecting these responsible citizens? Government officials only create gun control measures in response to mass shootings, using the shootings for political advantage and to promote their agendas. I propose the same knee-jerk reactions in the form of reducing gun control each time citizens are forced to defend themselves or others with a firearm. These types of stories will never make national headlines, which is sad because citizens need to be informed on both sides of an issue before our elected representatives to go crazy with inhibiting our liberties for the sake of what they think is best for us.
