It's no secret that our representatives are unwilling to break party lines and do what is best for the United States and solving our current financial crisis. A lot of this is due to them being out of touch with their constituents namely due to the large gap in the age of voters vs. their representatives.
I propose instituting a "Maximum Age" cap of sixty five (65) years of age for being eligible to be an elected member of the Senate or the House of Representatives.
Having a relatively younger demographic representing the People could allow for more progress to be made and an increased possibility of more open-minded, productive dialogue between representatives on opposite sides of the party line.
