We cannot compete with laborers willing to work 60 hour weeks, for 5$ a day. Communist, and authoritarian governments will always out compete democratically capitalist ones, if we are willing to trade with them. Dictators get work done really cheap.
No product manufactured for sale in the United States, should employ the labor of anyone making less than our current federal minimum wage, adjusted for the exchange rate. What we are currently doing is fundamentally morally, and economically bankrupt. If we do not institute an international minimum wage on products sold in the US, our economy will collapse, and we will find ourselves hated around the world. We need to stop investing in communism, and dictatorship, they don't work. We need to invest in US.
