This petition is to reduce the amount of gun crime perpetrated with use of a stolen weapon, and accidental discharge.
The buy back program would be completely voluntary. For every fire-arm given, a coupon for the purchase of a Smart Gun should be awarded. Smart Guns are guns with new technology that only allows the owner to fire the weapon, the downfall being their expense.
Roughly 35% of American's own a fire-arm, and rates of stolen guns used in crimes are extremely high. By organizing a national buy back program, and delivering discounts for Smart Guns we can hopefully reduce the amount of crimes committed with stolen weapons, and reduce the amount of free use firearms on our streets. Lastly accidental discharge will never be a concern for any owner of a gun with Smart Gun Technology
