HMO’s are used by private, for-profit, insurance companies, making exorbitant profits, and have failed to lower medical costs. American's are driven into bankruptcy from out of control medical costs. US healthcare was 37th in the world, in 2010. The US spends more on healthcare than any other country in the world but has higher rates of infant mortality, diabetes and cancer, than many other countries. 50 M American’s have no ins./ 38 M have inadequate ins., and will postpone treatment. NHS’s are being successfully used in many developed countries, like FR, CAN, UK, ect…It is a system in which it's citizen’s have a longer life expectancy and better overall health then America‘s. .
