Institute a national one gigabit per second internet standard.

As the creators of the internet we need to have the best internet infrastructure. A national advance to a 1 GBPS infrastructure can be seen as a jobs program for the short term. In the long term it will keep investments in America and allow American citizens to reap the rewards of telework, telemedicine, and access to state of the art technology. By making this a government works program the 1 GBPS standard can be implemented quickly and without creating a national digital divide.
