Banks created a mess. Prospered during it, and now hoard the cash they received making loans nearly impossible even for well qualified applicants. The one year mortgage holiday would help to reinvigorate the local economy, national economy, and foster growth. It is not forgiveness of the mortgage obligation, just one year moving to the back end.
