Institute strict knife control laws

We need to finally put an end to the knife violence that plagues this country. I propose that any weapons that have a blade that is at least 3" long & has a pointed tip should be required to have a serial number & that they can only be sold by federally licensed dealers. In order to purchase a knife like that a person must first obtain a permit to purchase a knife & then pass a federal background check. Furthermore we need to restrict the sale of any assault knives (any weapon that has a blade longer than 6" even if it has a curved tip, anything that has a blade on both sides, as well as knives & other bladed weapons that come with finger grooves or sheaths). Any bladed weapons that fall into this category will be grandfathered in if they are registered & have serial numbers added to them.
