In the 2014 midterm elections, voter turnout was the lowest it had been since WWII, merely 36%. Part of the reason why turnout was so low is because voting has become such an inconvenience for full-time working Americans.
In order to increase voter turnout, the government must remove the hassle of voting by combining it with the technology of the 21st century.
I propose that the Obama administration commission a website with an online, national voter database, so Americans would be able to register, authenticate and even submit their ballots online. Also, the Obama administration should partner with a software company, such as Google, in order to bring this new voting system to mobile devices.
