By collecting a set fee (of maybe $5) on every article of clothing sold over a certain size, for example XXXL and above, the federal government could help lower the cost of healthcare by using some of these funds to further federally subsidize hospitals, etc. This tax would also serve as an incentive for obese Americans to work toward a healthier lifestyle which would lower the death rate in America. A healthier America would also decrease the expenses of healthcare in time since healthier people use doctors and hospitals less than unhealthy individuals.
A portion of these funds should also be turned over to the Social Security Administration in an effort to keep the program from going bankrupt.
