Institute Term Limits for Members of Congress

Created by J.N. on January 18, 2013

We the people demand that the President of the United States implement term limits for all members of Congress, beginning immediately with the 113th United States Congress, disregarding previous service.

We specifically demand that representatives may serve no more than two consecutive terms and no more than four total terms in their lifetime, and senators may serve no more than one consecutive term, and no more than two total terms in their lifetime.

It is evident that the current culture has produced a Congress of long-time friends and deep connections, by nature beholden to one another moreso than those they represent, and contrary to the aspirations of a government by the people.
