It is well known among experts that all tobacco products contain significant amounts of radioactive polonium 210. This is an important preventable factor in the development of cancer. They are favored because contaminated high phosphate fertilizer is cheaper than safer nonradioactive substitutes. Despite the problem, so far no consumer identifiable product warning labels divulging the risk have been released and most smokers have no idea that smoking a pack and a half of cigarettes daily exposes them to the equivalent of 300 chest xrays per year. We ask that the use of radioactive fertilizer in tobacco be banned and, that prominent warning labels showing the international symbol for radiation and stating: "Warning contains radioactive polonium 210" be displayed prominently on products.
