The people need to ensure that they are being represented by individuals who still understand their constituents. By limiting the terms of elected officials, the people will not have career politicians who lose sight of their oaths or the needs of their individual state populations. The people believe that the inability of elected officials to properly represent their states and constituents results from being in Washington, DC and becoming enamoured of the wealth and attention of corporations and lobbyists. Instituting term limits should eliminate the lobbyist issue and ensure that the peoples choice of representation work to produce equitable laws and less filibustering.
