Institute a voluntary, public tax to help cover the deficit.

The White House should have a website (sharable via FB, Twitter, whatever) where citizens can pay additional taxes to cover the deficit. It would be a patriotic act: instead of the government forcing people to pay if they can't (or won't), people who truly care about the future of this country, the roads we drive on, the social services we and those we care about depend on can make a public declaration that they will do what they can, and share the link with their friends. This would be a public act, a declaration of the values of the American People. Any taxes paid via this method would not reduce anyone's owed taxes come April. This would create a social pressure and help reduce the deficit.
