The U.S. Department of Justice should be instructed to allow and assist customers to retrieve their files and data from their MegaUpload accounts. This is an unlawful seizure on the part of the DOJ as they are not charging any of MegaUpload's customers with criminal charges and thus have no right to hold their property. If the situation was a bank or a self-storage that was seized due to criminal activities, the government would provide a means for innocent bystanders to retrieve their money or physical property. The customers' rights need to be protected for their intangible property.
