Instruct the EPA and USDA to immediately investigate and take action on the link between use of pesticides and honey bee Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD).
CCD threatens each and every American and is rapidly diminishing honey bee populations in the Untied States. The USDA estimates that CCD has caused the loss of 30-90 of beekeeper hives since 2006. Bee pollination is directly responsible for $15 billion in crop value each year and roughly 1 in 3 bites of food consumed by every American (http://ars.usda.gov/news/docs.htm?docid=15572).
The recent study released by the Harvard School of Public Health strongly suggests a direct link between the use of neonicotinoid pesticides and CCD (http://www.hsph.harvard.edu).
Please instruct the EPA and USDA to immediately investigate and take action!
