We are asking the White House to establish a policy that forces the FBI to give complete information when conducting background checks for employment. A National Employment Law Project report found that 600,000 Americans a year are blocked from jobs because of inaccurate FBI Reporting. Reporting that a person was arrested but not reporting the disposition of the case is the same as the person being guilty until they prove their innocence.
The FBI is already giving complete information when conducting background checks for firearms. They need to do the same for people searching for employment.
