1.) The merger of the #1 and #2 largest Cable TV Companies will create a monopoly, resulting in less opportunity for competition and hire rates for consumers. Rates have already skyrocketed over 200% recent years, while service has diminished.
2.) Both Comcast and Time Warner Cable are linked with the American Legislative Exchange Counsel (ALEC). ALEC has been actively involved in sponsoring model legislation that has wreaked havoc across our nation.
3.) As a result of Citizens United, much of our airwaves have become a cesspool of "pay-to-play" propaganda. Less choice runs the risk of monolithic providers drowning out the diverse speech of those who may not be able to afford Comcast's ad rates.
If anything, these monoliths need to be broken up so that new innovations can emerge.
