Instruct the FCC to levy a $10 million fine each time any media outlet reveals the name or image of a mass murderer.

Created by R.M. on December 16, 2012

Experts in Psychology believe a key factor in the decision to commit mass murder is the instant notoriety and infamy afforded to assailants.

Our Media is unwilling to maintain anonymity for mass murderers (because we, as a society, are unable to resist consuming that information). They are, in effect, glorifying and promoting them. It needs to stop.

The FCC already regulates speech on our airwaves in other areas of our common interest. They should develop and enforce strict fines for media who choose to reveal personal information or images of those who commit these heinous crimes.
