According to an NPR report on July 21, 2014, over 1 million people have responded to the public commenting call put out by the FCC, but because they are not written by professional writers, they are being discounted.
Net neutrality is vital to the continued economic growth of the country, and only a few very large and very influential companies who have a vested interest in controlling the speed of content want to dismantle the information superhighway.
Net neutrality protects content creators--artists and artisans, merchants and manufacturers, and providers like Netflix, Google and Amazon. With the increased reliance on the Internet for communications, it also protects our Constitutional rights of speech and association.
