Instruct the Federal Communications Commission to reclassify broadband as a common carrier service.

Reclassifying broadband as a common carrier service would protect the Internet as a hub for innovation and the exchange of ideas. It would prevent Internet Service Providers from hindering the exchange of information on the internet by discriminating between information sources in routing speed or quality. The FCC has the power to reclassify. Nothing in the Federal Court decision on Verizon vs FCC prevents this reclassification. FCC's reluctance use this power in support of the common good is baffling and short-sighted. ‘… as common carriers, [ISPs must] “… engage in no “unjust or unreasonable discrimination in charges, practices, classifications, regulations, facilities, or services,”47 USC§ 202(a), and charge “just and reasonable” rates, id.§201(b).'
