In court papers filed Aug. 20, 2013, the Department of Justice requested George W. Bush, Richard Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, Colin Powell, Condoleezza Rice and Paul Wolfowitz be granted procedural immunity in a case alleging that they planned and waged the Iraq War in violation of international law, stating they were acting within the legitimate scope of their employment.
Conspiracy to initiate a war of aggression, manipulating political processes, misleading a fearful public, and foregoing proper legal authorization, do not constitute lawful employment duties for the American president and the cabinet.
It is enough of an abrogation of the Rule of Law that the perpetrators have not been prosecuted by the U.S. To issue them blanket immunity from these capital crimes is scandalous!
