In March, the Secret Service said that they would not allow open carry of firearms at the Republican National Convention citing federal laws. These laws are clearly in violation of the constitutional right to bear arms guaranteed in the Second Amendment to the US Constitution and so are unconstitutional. The Republican National Committee has issued a statement that "The Republican Party has been and will continue to be a staunch supporter of the Second amendment. It is in our platform and is strongly supported by our candidates." We ask that the President instruct the Secret Service honor the commitment of the RNC to the Second Amendment and allow the RNC to show their staunch support by allowing the open carry of firearms in the Quicken Loans Arena during the RNC convention.
