Today, the USCIS assigns family-based visa applications to service centers based on the residence of the petitioner.
Each month, the Texas Service Center (TSC) both receives more I-129f applications and processes significantly fewer than the California Service Center (CSC), leading to gross imbalances in processing times. As of late-May 2014, the CSC is responding to applicants who filed in March and April 2014, while TSC is responding to applicants who filed in November 2013 - a difference of 4 months!
For the thousands of American families waiting to be reunited, it is absurd and unfair that we should face additional delays due geographic circumstance.
USCIS must solve the problems at the TSC - either hire more adjudicators or balance the petitions between the two service centers.
