Insure that every document created by congress is written in plain, eighth grade English and published on the internet.

Conducting the nations’ business in legalese does not give our words weight and seriousness. It serves only to keep Americans ignorant of the activities of those we hire to do our business. Americans are not stupid – we run businesses, manage families, jobs, childrearing, eldercare, and debt. We can analyze any law, purchase or commitment, but only if we speak the same language.
American government is not rocket science nor DNA sequencing. It is maintenance vs. budget. It must operate with the same transparency it demands of America citizens. Every congressional or agency document must be translated into plain English and published on the internet. Each must state its purpose, its necessity, who will benefit, who will be adversely effected, its cost, its funding and its duration.
