It's 2013 and congress seems to be having trouble finding effective ways to trim the budget so here's a start...
Cancel the Navy's costly LCS program it is not a survival ship in hostile environments and and has failed to demonstrate it's intended capabilities and lacks reliability
To replace the LCS program the navy should begin building a super destroyer one that could work in hostile Littoral environments like a zumwalt destroyer AND in deep waters like the pacific and Atlantic etc like the Arleigh Burke destroyers in order to keep the Air sea combat concept that the military has in mind they must make a new advanced Destroyer that can incorporate the best of both worlds without the need of time consuming Mission module changes and eliminating the need for frigates and cruisers
