We have the technology to energize the roadways with power that can be tapped by individual vehicles, and eliminate the need for vehicles to carry their own gas, electric, or hybrid power supply. Electric trains do this everyday. Let this become the next great national challenge, and we can be at the forefront of this innovative technology internationally. Individual vehicles would be billed for the power used on the roadway, and unlike trains, the vehicles operate whenever needed by the owner. If roadways are constructed properly, and radar proximity indicators are part of the vehicles, very high speeds can be safely maintained on major highways, cutting travel time for individuals.
