This petitions goal is to integrate peace and justice studies into our current educational system in order to help reduce violence in our schools.
Why? Currently our educational system does not include any formal aspects of peace and justice studies. By teaching peace and justice to our children and teens we will be able to help reduce violence and bullying in schools by providing alternate solutions to violent actions. More specifically, integrating peace and justice into our schools will help in the following ways:
. empowering the status behind nonviolent actions
. empowering students so that they feel as if they can change their surroundings and make a difference in their lives
. lead students to a greater sense of self-awareness and inner peace
. provide positive role models
