As an American citizen, Saeed Abedini deserves the freedoms and rights provided by the American government - including protection from foreign nations. Not only has the Iranian government failed to give any formal charges for Abedini's imprisonment, but they have wrongfully held an American since September 26th. Since America claims to believe in freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and freedom of expression, it is obligated as a nation to defend their citizens when their freedoms are threatened.
