Internet Privacy

Created by J.W. on June 24, 2013

I call upon President Obama and Congress to work together closely to quickly pass legislation and update the Electronic Communications Privacy Act (ECPA).
Information gained on the Internet about me has value which belongs to me and not commercial entities that gather the information. They must obtain my consent before using or selling my information.
I should be allowed to review and correct that information just like my credit history.
Opt Out is the default instead of Opt In.
User agreements must be simple and easy to read using the same criteria as Truth in Lending policies.
It shall be illegal to read my email, either by a human reader or by an automated process without my permission.
Give the Federal Trade Commission the authority to make rules and regulations on Internet privacy.
