In 1994, the people of Ukraine agreed to give up their nuclear weapons in exchange for security assurance from the United States, the UK, and other world power. This agreement, of which the U.S. is signatory, is known as the Budapest Memorandum. Article one of the agreement states:
"The United States of America, the Russian Federation, and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, reaffirm their commitment to Ukraine … to respect the Independence and Sovereignty and the existing borders of Ukraine."
Today, the armies of the Russian Federation, under the order of Vladimir Putin, have invaded the territories of Ukraine, a sovereign nation, thus violating the Memorandum.
We, as concern citizens of our President to stand up to the Russian aggression.
