This petition is being constructed to encourage the executive branch of the federal government, to intervene in the Public Safety affairs in the City of Detroit.
We are requesting that the Obama administration demand reform to the Detroit Police Department, in an effort to improve response times, and initiate [effective] special task force to deflect gang violence.
Furthermore, We the People Believe, in order to form a more perfect union, that every city, and every state should be required to employ a minimum amount of public safety officials -- which would be determined by their population [number of active citizens].
According to recent statistics the City of Detroit homicide rates increased by 12% percent since prior year. Even more devastating as of 2012 there have been 18 murders.
