Without any recourse for home owners, congress has enabled insurance companies to drastically raised flood insurance, making homes near a flood zone effectively worthless to middle class and poor homeowners. Congress enacted this travesty to make FEMA more solvent, but the true benefactors are the insurance companies. Please at least delay these draconian efforts at the expense of home owners. These increases are, in some cases more than 700% and will devastate communities like St. Petersburg Florida.
