I petition the Obama administration to intervene in the merger between Comcast and Time Warner Cable.
The United States is currently in a crisis. We invented a technology that has changed the world, the internet. Now we have allowed corporate greed to stifle progress in this area.
Currently, according to speed tests conducted by OOKLA, the United States ranks 30th in global internet speeds.
Prices are also out of control. According to the BBC, the United States has internet prices three times higher than the UK and France as well as five times higher than South Korea.
I am asking the Obama administration to do what it can to block this coming merger. This merger will only remove choice from the consumer and lower competition in an already stagnant market.
Stop the merger.
