Intervene in Mali. We must help the peaceful, tolerant people of Mali defend themselves from radical fundamentalists.

Mali has been a relatively stable, peaceful country for a long time. It is a great example of a tolerant Muslim country. But suddenly, Mali is being invaded by outsiders -- radical Islamists who are bent on reshaping the country in their monstrous image. The emerging news is appalling - amputations, stonings, and total destruction of the open, tolerant traditions of Mali. They stand no chance unless the world intervenes. France is already doing the right thing. President Obama, the US must do its part!
The roots of much of our great American music are from Mali. Now, the invading fundamentalists have banned music in Mali. If they destroy Mali, they won't quit -- they will use it as a base to further spread their terror. For our own sake as well as for the people of Mali, we must act now!
