Intervene to save Puerto Rico's Healthcare System and support the right to health of 3.5 million American citizens.

Created by F.R. on October 23, 2015

Dear President Obama,
In an effort to help 3.5 million American citizens living in Puerto Rico, We The People ask you to intervene to save Puerto Rico's Healthcare System. Federal healthcare funding rates for Puerto Rico are half the rate of mainland states, yet these U.S. citizens pay the same Social Security and Medicare taxes as mainland residents. Puerto Rico’s Medicaid program receives 70 percent lower reimbursement rate of any other mainland State. This funding gap will increase after implementation of the Center for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS) recent 11% cut to Puerto Rico’s MA premiums, effective 2016. At the same time, it will increase rates 3% to the 50 States.
We the People are asking for equal rights to health.
Thanks for your attention to this important problem.
