The mass shooting at an elementary school in Connecticut must become the tipping point that will give President Obama and members of Congress the political mandate to reform our gun laws and stop these killings.
If those who support unrestricted gun ownership continue to wave the second amendment in defense of their extreme positions, then the time has come to adopt a new amendment to the Constitution to repeal the second amendment.
We, the people of the United States, can no longer be held hostage by the gun lobby because of a single, 221-year-old sentence written in the Constitution.
