This petition was created in response to the gridlock that has crippled our legislative and governing process. Where compromise and understanding once allowed for citizens to trust in our government, SuperPACs and special interests now permit elected officials to remain in office and serve those who fund their elections, rather than those who elect them.
If the President of the USA is bound by term limits, and some states restrict the terms that governors or elected officials can serve, the evidence is clear that an unwelcome stay of those elected office hinders progress and public service to the citizens of the USA, regardless of the topic being debated. Democracy is a beautiful gift that we are blessed with. The abuse of that democracy by those in service is clearly unacceptable.
